Health Promotion Sciences, M.P.H./Master of Social Work, M.S.W.
About
The Master of Public Health and Master of Social Work (MPH/MSW) is an accelerated dual degree program resulting in an MPH in Health Promotion Sciences from the OUHSC Hudson of Public Health and an MSW from the OU Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work. A total of 88 curriculum hours are required to complete both degrees. Graduates of the dual MPH/MSW degree will work as agents of change to advance the health of individuals, families, and communities and elevate the status of people, populations or communities that experience considerable vulnerability and injustice within Oklahoma and the broader society.
Cost
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are enrolled in the prescribed courses and to pay tuition and fees at the time designated by the Bursar's Office. Details regarding tuition/fee charges and collection are available from the Bursar's Office.
Admissions
For the general application requirements see our How to Apply page. This specific program also requires:
- Bachelor’s degree or entry-level first professional degree from an accredited institution.
- Must be in good standing with the college or university where currently enrolled or last attended.
- Grade point average of 3.0 or above using the upper-division coursework of the bachelor's degree.
- College Algebra or a higher-level math course.
- Additionally, admissions to the MSW program would be required: MSW (ou.edu)

PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Grade point average of 3.0 or above calculated using the upper-division coursework of the bachelor’s degree.
- Proof of language proficiency for international applicants: TOEFL score of 88 or above for most programs. The MHA program requires a TOEFL score of 100 IBT.
- GRE test is required for all degrees and programs.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR ALL MPH PROGRAMS:
All MPH applicants are required to have some mathematics in their undergraduate program. College Algebra will meet this requirement.
