About
The Degree Completion (RN to BSN) program is a flexible degree program for registered nurses who want to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing in as little as two semesters. The RN to BSN program is 30 hours, internet-based, with flexible clinical practicum hours. Graduates from this program receive a BSN degree. 30 hours of the program are earned by advanced standing from RN licensure.
- Self-directed students can excel in the 100% online courses with flexible clinical practicum hours.
- Estimated weekly time commitment is 2-3 hours per course credit hour, per week i.e., 6 credit hours = 12 hrs of time per week.
- No direct patient care in hospital or other acute care setting required.
- Attendance at virtual program and course orientation is recommended at start of each semester.
- Relevant course work with nationally certified and doctoral prepared faculty.
Three enrollment options are available:
- Two-semester fall start full-time
- Four-semester fall start part-time
- Three-semester spring start
Program Clinical Course
Fall: NURS 4084 Clinical III Nursing for the RN - Students will work asynchronously both independently and in teams through virtual simulation and other online assignments to complete the practicum components of this course.
Cost
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are enrolled in the prescribed courses and to pay tuition and fees at the time designated by the Bursar's Office. Details regarding tuition/fee charges and collection are available from the Bursar's Office.

- Valid/current Oklahoma RN license at the time of application

- Completion of 61 credit hours of prerequisite coursework
- 30 credit hours must be completed prior to application
- All prerequisites must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
- The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUSHC) is on a semester credit hour system. Contact an advisor if coursework is from an institution with trimester or quarter-hours systems.
- Cumulative grade point average (L60GPA) of a 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
- OUHSC considers all coursework regardless of academic forgiveness granted by other institutions.
- Each attempt of any course taken will be calculated into the L60GPA.
- Science grade point average (SGPA) of a 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
- At least two of the three laboratory science prerequisites must be completed prior to application.
- Three laboratory sciences required: Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology
- Each attempt of any science course taken will be calculated into the science GPA, along with the four required sciences.

Below are the required prerequisite courses for the RN-BSN program. Prerequisite courses are not required to be completed at the time of application, but must be completed prior to BSN enrollment if admitted. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade C or better, and applicants must have a minimum of one science prerequisite completed at the time of application to calculate their science GPA. The minimum last 60 credit hours (letter-graded) and science GPA to be eligible is 2.50.and science GPA to be eligible is 2.50.
