LPN to BSN
The Degree Completion (LPN-BSN) program consists of online theory courses and in-person clinicals. The nursing curriculum is 60 credit hours, with 30 hours earned through advanced standing examination and 30 by enrollment to be completed within the program.
The LPN to BSN program offers asynchronous classes, clinical rotations in Oklahoma, and internet-based coursework to accommodate working nurses. Students will complete the majority of coursework online as well as 160 hours per semester of in-person clinical coursework.
Graduates from this program receive a BSN degree and are eligible to sit for the state examination for licensure as a registered nurse.
Cost
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are enrolled in the prescribed courses and to pay tuition and fees at the time designated by the Bursar's Office. Details regarding tuition/fee charges and collection are available from the Bursar's Office.
Admission Requirements
- Completion of 61 credit hours of prerequisite coursework
- 30 credit hours must be completed prior to application
- All prerequisites must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
- The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUSHC) is on a semester credit hour system. Contact an advisor if coursework is from an institution with trimester or quarter-hours systems.
- Last 60 hours grade point average (L60GPA) of a 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
- OUHSC considers all coursework regardless of academic forgiveness granted by other institutions.
- Each attempt of any course taken will be calculated into the L60GPA.
- Science grade point average (SGPA) of a 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
- At least two of the four laboratory science prerequisites must be completed prior to application.
- Four laboratory sciences required: Chemistry, Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology
- Each attempt of any science course taken will be calculated into the science GPA, along with the four required sciences.
- Valid and active Oklahoma/compact LPN/LVN license at the time of application
Eligibility for Enrollment and Program Start
- Exams for Advanced Standing Credit
- Exams are not required to be completed prior to admission.
- If admitted to the program, students will be provided information for completing the required exams.

Prerequisite Courses
Below are the required prerequisite courses for the LPN to BSN program. Prerequisite courses are not required to be completed at the time of application, but must be completed prior to BSN enrollment if admitted. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade C or better, and applicants must have a minimum of one science prerequisite completed at the time of application to calculate their science GPA. The minimum last 60 and science GPA to be eligible is 2.50.

Upon successful completion of the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Baccalaureate Degree Program the graduate will be prepared to:
