This course aims to provide students with the basic analytical and conceptual skills required in the modern practice of corporate financial management. Students enrolled in this class will already have been exposed to the concepts of risk and return, the determination of financial security prices, and models useful in predicting the required returns demanded by investors. In addition, students enrolled in this class will already have been exposed to the fundamentals of financial statements and the analysis of such statements. The course will focus on three key areas of financial management: (1) the optimal allocation of capital; (2) the optimal choices for raising capital; (3) the optimal management of risk in conjunction with (1) and (2).
